Our Story
For a couple years now, anyone who stopped by the Amtrak Depot in Princeton would see a sign saying YouAreHere on the doorway to the west side of the building.
If you looked closely, you would notice a sculpture of two bicyclists in the window. Then maybe you saw a picture of those two cyclists in a message in Good Morning Princeton. The message was from a "Mr. Bicycle Friendly." It encouraged readers who had old bikes in their garages to donate them so kids and adults could ride. By December of 2017, more than 50 of those used, often beloved bicycles for children and adults, had been fixed up, cleaned up and delivered to The Closet Resale, Festival 56 Theater, and nearly a dozen individuals who needed a way to get around town without a car. By February of 2018, Mr. Bicycle Friendly found a home: Bike Place, at the Windchimer, the maroon-colored building next to the railroad track. |
